Jumpstart Announces 2009 Catalyst Award Winners

Most Innovative Advertising in Automotive Industry Celebrated from J.D. Power Roundtable

San Francisco, CA, October 19, 2009 — Last week from the J.D. Power Roundtable, Jumpstart Automotive Group named the seven winners of the annual Catalyst awards, recognizing this year's most remarkable interactive advertising done for auto brands. Winners were selected from across the U.S. and include TBWA\Chiat\Day, Factory Design Labs, Speedshape, Team Detroit\Wunderman, and Saatchi & Saatchi LA.

Selected from over 60 entries, the 2009 Catalyst winners were recognized across six categories: Rich Media, Social Media, New/Emerging Media, Standard Messaging Media, Cross Platform, and Judges Choice.

The winners were selected by a panel of highly respected experts from the automotive marketing and interactive advertising fields, including Scott Bremner, Creative Director, Siltanen and Partners; Jim Elliot, Creative Director, Goodby; Jean Halliday, Detroit Bureau Chief, AdvertisingAge; Eve Maidenberg, VP, Marketing at Jumpstart; Olivier Rabenschlag, Creative Director, TBWA and Chip Reingold, Chief Creative Officer, Blast Radius.

Additionally, Jumpstart Automotive Group opened voting to the public to name the "Best in Show." Voters were asked to pick one from the top fifteen submissions (three finalists from each of the five categories).

The seven winners were:

  • Rich Media: TBWA\Chiat\Day for "Ad Pods: Join Group, Cube Party Roundup and Set Preferences" on behalf of Nissan North America
  • Standard Messaging: Factory Design Labs for "Truth in 24 Microsite" on behalf of Audi Of America
  • Cross-Platform: Speedshape for "2010 Camaro Re-Use" on behalf of Campbell-Ewald and Camaro
  • Social Media: Team Detroit\Wunderman for "You Speak Green" on behalf of Ford Motor Company
  • New/Emerging: TBWA\Chiat\Day for "Cube Party Roundup: iPhone Application" on behalf of Nissan North America
  • Judges Choice: TBWA\Chiat\Day for "Ad Pods: Join Group, Cube Party Roundup and Set Preferences" on behalf of Nissan North America
  • Best in Show: Saatchi & Saatchi LA for "Prius iPhone Site" on behalf of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. Inc.
