I call quick fixes like the Cash for Clunkers initiative, "keeping your head above water". You have to wonder what business would be like for local dealers right now if Cash for Clunkers had never happened. Slowly gaining momentum, perhaps. It's like the difference between healing an injured shoulder the healthy way through exercise or giving it a quick shot of steroids.
